Cosmetic Surgery

Making the decision to undergo a plastic surgery procedure is an intensely personal decision. People generally consider plastic surgery if they are unhappy with some aspect of their appearance. Maybe you feel your breasts are too small and require a breast enlargement or you want to rediscover the body you had before having your family through liposuction or a tummy tuck.
Patients often experience a stronger sense of self confidence after a successful plastic surgery procedure. It is true that the way you look on the outside affects the way that you feel on the inside. But it is important to understand that cosmetic surgery is not the miracle panacea for fixing every problem in life. It is merely a tool to help you achieve your goals.
Cosmetic surgery is a medical procedure and the decision should not be taken lightly. You need to be true to yourself in making this decision. Are you unhappy with the way you look or are you doing this to please someone else? It is not a quick fix solution you will have to factor in recovery time and discomfort. During the recovery time your appearance will be less than ideal - you may have some bruising or stitches that need to heal.
Over the last two years we have looked after over 200 ladies and gentleman who have travelled from the UK to Kuala Lumpur for Cosmetic Surgery.  Through this experience we have hand picked the best plastic surgeons here in Malaysia. Two of our staff have personal experience of these surgeons, having undergone, facelift and liposuction
We offer a wide range of treatments and our fully qualified Cosmetic Surgeons are all members of the Malaysian Association of Plastic Aesthetic & Maxillofacial Surgeons –MAPACS

Procedures Available

If you want a tighter, flatter abdomen, then a tummy tuck may be appropriate to help achieve your goals.
Also known as abdominoplasty, a tummy tuck removes excess fat and skin, and in some cases restores weakened or separated muscles. This creates an abdominal profile that is smoother and firmer, often enhancing your body image and confidence.
The Surgery: A tummy tuck involves the surgical removal of excess abdominal fat and skin and includes tightening of the abdominal wall where muscles have weakened.
A full tummy tuck requires a horizontal incision in the area between the pubic hairline and navel. Incision size is largely dependent on the amount of excess skin to be removed.
Where correction is isolated to the area below the navel, a limited or mini tummy tuck with a shorter incision at the pubic bone may be recommended.
Liposuction may be performed with a mini tummy tuck where excess fat is the only factor.
The results: Swelling should subside and initial results may appear in 2-4 weeks. Final results could appear in 8 weeks. Incision lines will continue to flatten and fade for up to 1 year.

Despite good health and a reasonable level of fitness, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness.
Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately enhancing your self-image.
These techniques may be used to reduce localized fat deposits of the:

  • Thighs
  • Hips and buttocks
  • Abdomen and waist
  • Upper arms
  • Back
  • Inner knee
  • Chest area
  • Cheeks, chin and neck
  • Calves and ankles

The Procedure: There are three common variations to the procedure:

  • Traditional liposuction is surgical suctioning of excess fat deposits
  • The tumescent or super-wet technique requires an infusion of saline solution with adrenaline and possibly anesthetic prior to removal of excess fat
  • Ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty uses ultrasonic energy to liquefy excess fat prior to surgical suctioning

The results: Swelling should subside, bruising should fade and initial results may appear in 2-4 weeks. Final results could appear in 2-6 months. Significant weight gain can cause recurrence of fatty deposits.

Eyelid surgery, called blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both, restoring firmness to the area surrounding the eyes and making you look more rested and alert.
Eyelid surgery can treat:

  • Loose or sagging skin that creates folds or hides the natural contour of the upper eyelid
  • Excess skin that hangs down from the upper eyelid, sometimes impairing vision
  • Excess fatty deposits that appear as puffiness in the upper eyelids
  • Bags under the eyes
  • Droopiness of the lower eyelids, showing white below the iris
  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelid

The Surgery: An incision within the natural crease of the upper eyelid allows access to remove excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue. Using an incision inside the lower eyelid, fat is removed or redistributed and muscle modified to correct a baggy lower eyelid.
An incision just below the lower lash line allows excess skin to be removed. Laser resurfacing may be used to smooth lower lid skin.

The results: Bruising should subside in 5-10 days and swelling should subside in 2-4 weeks. Final results may appear in 1-2 months. Incision lines will continue to refine and fade for 1 year.

Breast size is important to many women for a variety of reasons. If you are dissatisfied with your breast size, augmentation surgery is a choice to consider. Breast augmentation can:

  • Increase fullness and projection of your breasts
  • Improve the balance of your figure
  • Enhance your self-image and self confidence

Also known as augmentation mammaplasty, the procedure involves using implants to fulfill your desire for fuller breasts or to restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy. Implants also may be used to reconstruct a breast after mastectomy or injury.
The Surgery: Common incision locations include the breast crease, in the underarm, or around the areola (pigmented skin surrounding the nipple).
Placement of implants beneath the chest wall muscle or directly behind breast tissue using pre-filled implants or implants filled during surgery creates desired volume.
Generally performed as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia with sedation; general anesthesia may be recommended.
The results: Immediate. Swelling should subside in 2-4 weeks. Incision lines will continue to flatten and fade for up to 1 year.
You should know that breast implants are not designed to last a lifetime and may eventually need replacing.

Overly large breasts can cause some women to have both health and emotional problems. In addition to self image issues, you may also experience physical pain and discomfort.
Also known as reduction mammaplasty, this procedure removes excess breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to achieve a breast size in proportion with your body and to alleviate the discomfort associated with overly large breasts.
The Surgery: Breast reduction is usually performed through incisions on your breasts with surgical removal of the excess fat, glandular tissue and skin.
In some cases, excess fat may be removed through liposuction in conjunction with the excision techniques described below. If breast size is largely due to fatty tissue and excess skin is not a factor, liposuction alone may be used for breast reduction.
The results:  Breast reduction surgery results will be long lasting and your new breast size should help relieve you from the pain and physical limitations experienced prior to this surgery.
Your better proportioned figure will likely enhance your self image and boost your self-confidence.
However, over time your breasts can change due to aging, weight fluctuations, hormonal factors and gravity.

Also known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well.
The Surgery:Excess skin is surgically removed to raise the nipple and tighten the breast tissue. Incision patterns vary, depending on degree of excess skin and amount of lifting required as well as patient and surgeon preference.
The results: Swelling should subside in 2-4 weeks. Breast shape may take 1-3 months to fully refine. Incision lines will continue to flatten and fade for up to 1 year.

Known as a neck lift, this is a surgical procedure which removes localized fat deposits under the chin, corrects muscle laxity, or tightens sagging skin under the chin.
The exact procedure performed will depend on your surgeon's assessment of your anatomy and your desired results.

The Surgery: In general, a small incision is made underneath the chin. The fat in this region is suctioned or directly excised. Muscles are tightened, and a small amount of skin may be removed.

The Results: Swelling should subside, bruising should fade and initial results may appear in 2-4 weeks. Final results could appear in 2-6 months. Submental Lipectomy should achieve a more youthful looking neck with a better contour.

If you are worried by the signs of aging in your face, a facelift may be right for you.
Also known as rhytidectomy, a facelift is a surgical procedure to improve visible signs of aging in the face and neck, such as:

  • Sagging in the midface
  • Deep creases below the lower eyelids
  • Deep creases between the nose and mouth
  • Fat that has fallen or is displaced
  • Loss of muscle tone in the lower face that may create jowls
  • Loose skin and excess fatty deposits under the chin and jaw

A facelift is designed to correct all of these aging features, restoring a more youthful, rested appearance with uplifted contours and improved tone in facial skin and underlying muscle.
The Surgery:  Usually incisions begin within the hairline, above the temple and continue along or just inside the ear, ending behind the ear. This allows access to tighten underlying tissue, remove excess fat and reduce sagging skin.
A second incision under the chin is sometimes necessary. If skin tone is good and only mid-face aging or excess fat in the neck will be corrected, abbreviated techniques with shorter incisions may be used. Liposuction techniques may assist with removal of fat deposits.
The results: Swelling and bruising should subside within 2-4 weeks. Final results may be apparent in 1-2 months. Incision lines will continue to refine and fade for 1 year.

Enlarged male breasts, also known as gynecomastia, can cause emotional discomfort and impair your self confidence. Gynecomastia is characterized by:

  • Excess localized fat
  • Excess glandular tissue development
  • A combination of both excess fat and glandular tissue
  • Gynecomastia may present unilaterally (one breast) or bilaterally (both breasts)

Gynecomastia can be surgically treated by removing excess fat, glandular tissue and/or skin. The result is a better proportioned, more masculine-contoured upper body and the freedom and self confidence to lead an active life.
The Surgery: Surgical removal of excess tissue is performed by excision and/or liposuction. This procedure can include areola reduction.
The results: Initial swelling should dissipate in 2-4 weeks. Final results may appear in 2-4 months. Incision lines will continue to fade for up to 1 year. Significant weight gain can reverse results.

Ear surgery, or Otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears.
The Surgery: With one of the more common techniques, the surgeon makes a small incision in the back of the ear to expose the ear cartilage. He or she will then sculpt the cartilage and bend it back toward the head. Non-removable stitches may be used to help maintain the new shape. Occasionally, the surgeon will remove a larger piece of cartilage to provide a more natural-looking fold when the surgery is complete.
Another technique involves a similar incision in the back of the ear. Skin is removed and stitches are used to fold the cartilage back on itself to reshape the ear without removing cartilage.
The Results: Most patients, young and old alike, are thrilled with the results of ear surgery. But keep in mind, the goal is improvement, not perfection. Don't expect both ears to match perfectly-perfect symmetry is both unlikely and unnatural in ears. If you've discussed the procedure and your expectations with the surgeon before the operation, chances are, you'll be quite pleased with the result.

While the shape of your nose is usually the result of heredity; the appearance may have been altered in an injury or during prior surgery.
Also known as rhinoplasty, surgery of the nose improves the appearance and proportion of your nose, enhancing facial harmony and self confidence. Surgery of the nose may also correct impaired breathing caused by structural defects in the nose.
Rhinoplasty can change:

  • Nose size, in relation to facial balance
  • Nose width, at the bridge or in the size and position of the nostrils
  • Nose profile, with visible humps or depressions on the bridge
  • Nasal tip, that is enlarged or bulbous, drooping, upturned or hooked
  • Nostrils that are large, wide or upturned
  • Nasal asymmetry

The Surgery: Incisions hidden at the nostril base and/or inside the nose allow access to reshape underlying cartilage and/or bone. This may include lowering humps, narrowing of nasal bones, shaping of the nasal tip or nostril size and improving the angle between the nose and the upper lip.
This procedure also can correct breathing difficulties caused by structural irregularities.
The results: You should see a change within 6-8 weeks following surgery, with continued refinement for 6-12 months. Cartilage is a flexible and growing tissue, therefore results following surgery are not fully predictable.

As more advanced techniques become available non-Invasive or minimally invasive treatments are becoming increasingly popular. The goal is to have a nice, natural-looking outcome with less down time. The trend toward non-invasive cosmetic procedures allows patients to get the look they want without having to disrupt their normal schedule

What is BTA?
In an effort to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, many people are turning to BTA. BTA is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crow feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. Being fairly simple and painless, BTA procedures do not require general or local anesthesia. All that is needed is a cold pack or anesthetic cream to numb the area. This entire procedure is approximately 5 to 10 minutes, involving no downtime at all.

Have you ever looked in the mirror and studied those lines around your brow? You may ask yourself, is it a result of aging, change in weight, or too much sun? What about stress? How skin ages is a combination of many factors. The lines that appear between your brows are the result of repetitive muscle movement over time. The more you have frown or squint your eyes, the more these muscles have contracted, causing the skin to crease. Over time the creases remain on the face and can become more pronounced. For women, whose faces tend to be more dynamic and active than men's, and whose skin is typically more delicate, these lines may appear overstated and more permanent.

It makes sense once you understand what causes wrinkles and how BTA works. There are two types of wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles, or muscle wrinkles, form where muscles move the face the most (around and between the eyes and around the mouth), and Static wrinkles are lines and crinkles that appear at the corners of the eyes and in other areas on the face. Dynamic wrinkles go deep. As they develop, they create grooves in the skin, which are apparent even when you are not moving your face. Static wrinkles are more superficial and are most noticeable when the face is moving, such as when you smile or frown. Because it affects the facial muscles, BTA can help ease or prevent both types.

Best Candidates for BTA
BTA has been used to treat adults of all ages. Though the results have been excellent in all age groups, they are most dramatic in those with minimal signs of aging. It is recommended for patients who:-

  • Have neck or facial wrinkles
  • Are in good physical condition
  • Are motivated to improve their appearance
  • Have realistic expectations
  • Don't drink, smoke, or use recreational drugs
  • Areas that BTA can be injected
  • Using new and improved butolinum toxin type-A (BTA or DYSPORT), this procedure is particularly suitable for reducing /eliminating dynamic wrinkles or facial reshaping:
  • CROW FEET (wrinkles around the eyes)
  • GLABELLAR LINES (frown lines)
  • FOREHEAD WRINKLES
  • INJECTABLE BROW-LIFT
  • PERI-ORAL LINES (wrinkles around your lips, commonly in smokers)
  • MENTO-LABIAL LINES (wrinkles extending from the corner of the lips to the chin)
  • MASSETER RESHAPING (reshaping the muscle at the angle of the jaw for a slimmer, sexier & contoured jaw line)
  • HYPERHYDROSIS (idiopathic excessive sweating around the palms, armpits, back of the neck and soles)

What are the Side Effects of BTA?
There are very few side effects associated with BTA injections. Small bruises or red marks at the sites of the injection may appear but usually will fade within a few days. Mild headaches and nausea, though rare, have been reported by patients who receive forehead injections. Some injections can cause mild muscle aches. It is also possible for an adjoining muscle to experience weakness, although this is usually temporary (one to three weeks).

Swelling, though rare, may occur in the area around the injection. If the swelling lasts more than a few hours, simple massage should help reduce it. (Caution: Do not massage the area in the hours immediately following your injection, since this could cause it to spread to adjacent muscles.)

After the treatment, you should refrain from bending over or from vigorous activities for several hours to prevent it from moving to an unwanted area. In rare cases, BTA injections around the eye area can cause the eyelid to droop though this will wear off in two or three weeks. It is even more rare, but possible, for injections in the neck muscles to cause difficulty swallowing. Be sure to discuss all the possible side effects with doctor before beginning treatment.

Preparation before the BTA Cosmetic Procedure
Good communication between you and your doctor will yield the best results. Discuss any concerns with the doctor before the procedure. List all medical conditions you have and any medications you are currently taking, in particular if you are taking an anti-inflammatory like Aspirin as this can lead to increased bruising. Be sure to discuss any food, drug, or other allergies.

When administered by an experienced and skilled doctor, this procedure is absolutely safe and fast.

What is Q-Peel
Q-Peel is a combination of a series of facial treatment which includes usage of an Ultrasonic Peeling Scrubber, Q-Peel mixture, Aloe Mask and Sonophoresis whereby the Q-Peel mixture contains 100% organic ingredients like. meadowsweet plant, honey extract, algae and aloe extract.

Procedure
The procedure takes about 30 minutes. After cleaning the face off debris and dirt, firstly the patient will be given an ultrasonic peeling scrubber whereby it promotes removal of dead cell, excess sebum, make-up residues and other harmful substances from the stratum corneum. Thereafter, a mixture of all Q-Peel ingredients will be transferred from the mixing bowl and layered onto the face evenly with the eye area closed with cotton pad dip in soothing Vitamin C solution. The mixture will then be left till it dries up in approximately 10 to 15 minutes. At this moment, certain patient may experience a tingling sensation following the Q-Peel mixture now penetrating the skin. Once the Q-Peel mixture had dried up, its mould could then be removed gradually from the face. The doctor/ nurse will then put on a refreshing aloe vera mask which not only has healing effect but create a protective hydrating film on the skin. The final procedure will entail a face treatment called Sonophoresis which uses sound wave to deliver vitamins, serum into the skin to ensure optimum penetration. It could also eliminate wrinkles and skin laxity by using micro-massage as well as ultrasonic heating.

Benefits of Q-Peel
Q-Peel mixture itself provides mild exfoliation of dead skin cells, moisturizing, soothing and conditioning properties to your skin. Its organic nutrients and mineral complexes will regulates and protect the skin from harsh effect of environment. Q-Peel is already great, now with the combination of the all other treatments mentioned above, one will not only leave the clinic feeling fresh but with an all new radiant skin that last.

What is TCA Peel
This is a form of chemical (trichloroacetic acid, TCA) skin peel that would help with minimizing pigment spots, age spots, sun damage and superficial wrinkles. The procedure takes between 30 to 45 minutes. Firstly we will clean the area where upon we are going to do the skin peel. Then a specific dilution of the TCA according to the patient’s skin type is prepared, usually between 10% to 30% of TCA. Very carefully the patient-specific solution is applied on the cleaned area. A neutralizing agent is applied the moment frosting sign appears on the skin, signaling peeling at the mid-dermal region. For the following 5 days, the patient will only be allowed to use a facial cleanser (non-scrub-based), moisturizer and sun-block. On the sixth day, the patient will be given an enzymatic facial scrub in the clinic. This would clean away all the peeled layers of the skin, leaving a new layer of clean and clear skin. Patients are advised to use sun-block post procedure.

For those who are looking to improve their overall skin smoothness, and reduce the visibility of fine wrinkles, medium chemical peels are perfect. Medium chemical peels are highly effective in promoting skin smoothness and vitality. They also improve superficial discoloration and eliminate fine wrinkles. They do nothing for acne scarring or dynamic wrinkles. Medium depth peels can be achieved with a variety of chemicals. TCA (trichloro acetic acid) is the most common. Jessner's solution, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other agents are also used.

Advantages
A medium chemical peel will not only improve the color, freshness and texture of your face, but it also helps to improve skin tone and reduce the visibility of fine wrinkles and superficial discoloration, such as age spots. It may improve blotches and can sometimes improve dark circles under your eyes. Medium peels may be repeated every three to six months for optimal results. Unlike deep peels, medium peels may be performed safely on people with olive and light brown skin. They may also be used in some people with dark brown skin, although the risk of discoloration is higher.

Disadvantages
Although you will see an improvement in the visibility of fine wrinkles, medium chemical peels offer no improvement for dynamic wrinkles. To achieve the best results, you should use skin care products before your peel and anticipate that two or more peels may be needed at three-month intervals. The effects of a medium chemical peel may dissipate over six months to a year, but improvement will persist if you adhere to a skin care program along with micro peels.

If you're looking for a wrinkle free forehead, but don't want the artificial look and motionless mid face or droopy eyelids and eyebrows that conventional wrinkle injections may give you, you would definitely welcome this piece of good news.

What is Dermo-Lift Procedure?

Dermo-Lift is a patented complication free non-surgical procedure, which (until recently) has been available exclusively only to a select group of Koreans.

Procedure

In this procedure, a small amount of BTA (Botulinum Type-A) is injected into the dermis layer of your skin.
What it does is that it remodels your skin structure and stimulates the growth of collagen and elastic fibers that tighten and smoothen the skin.
There is actually an increase in the amount of collagen, and there is a normalization of the arrangement of collagen in the skin.
That results in firmness of the skin tissue and a decrease in pore size. In as short as few weeks, you'll experience a total non surgical face lift, slimmer lower face and smaller pore size.
A minimum of 3 sessions is required to achieve the maximum effect. You'll look younger in a natural way with a motion free mid face. It rejuvenates and reinvigorates you, bringing you a whole new sense of freedom and confidence.

Why Dermo-Lift Procedure
1. Wrinkle free procedure that doesn't give you an artificial and motionless mid-face.
2. Sagging skin uplifted, pore size reduced and acne scar reduced.
3. No downtime, you can immediately resume normal lifestyle after the procedure.
4. Quick lunch time procedure, not more than 20 minutes.
Safe, as the active ingredient has been used for more than 10 years.

This is a non-surgical augmentation procedure using hyaluronic acid injected intradermally or using water-based injectable filler for the chin, cheeks, nose and buttocks, injected subcutaneously. Tiny quantities of hyaluronic acid are injected through very fine needles, boosting the skin's own hyaluronic acid. Depending how many lines are treated, the treatment takes 20 minutes to an hour, with minimal discomfort. This procedure gives a natural feel and promises long-lasting results. Specifically-designed fillers are also available to those who want fuller and more prominent lips or who wish to rejuvenate aged lips.

Hyaluronic acid therapy is becoming a popular choice as a temporary filler for facial augmentation. It is a safe, non-surgical procedure that conveniently softens facial lines and furrows. It also has the added benefit of not requiring skin testing before use. The effects can be maintained by small ‘top-up’ treatments as required, generally about twice a year.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that is found in all living organisms. High concentrations are found in soft connective tissue and in the fluid surrounding the eye. It is also present in some cartilage and joint fluids, and in skin tissue. In skin tissue, hyaluronic acid is a jelly-like substance that fills the space between collagen and elastin fibres. The role of hyaluronic acid in skin is to:

  • provide a mechanism of transport of essential nutrients from the bloodstream to living skin cells
  • hydrate the skin by holding in water
  • act as a cushioning and lubricating agent against mechanical and chemical damage.

Over time, either through the natural process of aging or through exposure to environmental factors such as pollutants and sunlight, the body's natural store of hyaluronic acid is degraded and destroyed.

Where can Hyaluronic Acid injections be used?
Hyaluronic acid injections can be used as a dermal filler to improve the skin's contour and reduce depressions in the skin due to scars, injury or lines. Facial lines and features that can be corrected using hyaluronic acid implantation which include:

  • Frown lines that run between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Smoker's lines which are vertical lines on the mouth (perioral lines)
  • Marionette lines at the corner of the mouth (oral commissures)
  • Worry lines that run across the forehead (forehead lines)
  • Crow's feet at the corner of the eyes (periorbital lines)
  • Deep smile lines that run from side of the nose to corners of the mouth (nasolabial furrows)
  • Cheek depressions
  • Redefining lip border
  • Acne scars
  • Some facial scars

Best Candidates for Hyaluronic Acid therapy?
Almost all people are suitable for hyaluronic acid therapy. Because hyaluronic acid is chemically identical within and between species, allergy to it is very rare. Thus, unlike bovine collagen implants, manufacturers claim there is not the need to perform a skin allergy test and wait up to 8 weeks for results before commencing treatments. You should discuss with your doctor about whether or not you require a skin allergy test with hyaluronic acid before commencing therapy. Hyaluronic acid therapy is suitable for patients allergic to bovine collagen.

Many men and women have consistently struggled with losing excess body fat in order to achieve healthy and aesthetically pleasing lives.
Though a balanced diet paired with regular exercise works for many, still others see little results despite large amounts of stress and frustration. Until now, the best solution for removing such fat was liposuction - a cosmetic procedure that literally sucks the fatty tissues out of the body and enables a person to effectively lose weight in a matter of minutes.
More recently revolutionary new techniques such as Lipo-Sculpture and Smart Lipo have allowed precise targeting of specific areas.

Lipo-Sculpture
Lipo-Sculpture techniques leads to body sculpting with safer and more precise results. This minimally invasive technique that allows patients to remain awake and comfortable while the doctors sculpts and contours the body could be done on many areas of the body for example chin, arm, abdomen, inner and outer thigh, breast area and many more. Almost every patient is able to drive themselves home and have less downtime and fewer complications than with any other kind of liposuction technique. In fact, no patient has experienced a serious complication or infection and most patients are back to normal activities within 48 hours.

Lipo-Sculpture is an advanced form of liposuction and the two terms are often used interchangeably. Lipo-Sculpture is the sculpting of the body's contours by the removal of unwanted fat thru suction. Before the procedure begins, doctors will use a marker to circle the area to be treated. After the marking, the patient is made comfortable on a padded table and the procedure begins. The procedure involves the numbing of the fat with a saline based lidocaine solution, called tumescence. After the tissue has been numbed, the solution and the unwanted fat are safely removed using a straw-like tool called a canula which is inserted via tiny 2mm holes called adits. The size of the holes is smaller than a spaghetti noodle and the canula is about the same size as an angle hair pasta noodle. The procedure is quiet and the movements are gentle and slow. Some patients say it reminds them of a massage. Generally, Lipo-Sculpture is not painful and does not leave any unsightly scars.

SmartLipo
SmartLipo is a remarkable method for removing unwanted body fat through a low-pain, highly efficient process. Instead of the bulky tubes and uncomfortable office visits required of traditional liposuction, SmartLipo utilizes smaller instruments and specialized technology to zap fat cells for contouring and reshaping areas of the body including the abdomen, love handles, backs, thighs, hips, knees, arms, neck, and chin.

It is important to recognize that though SmartLipo is highly effective, it is only appropriate for patients wishing to lose small amounts of fat, or up to about 8 pounds. SmartLipo will not provide satisfactory results for persons needing to lose significant amounts of body fat - such patients require traditional liposuction or alternate methods for weight loss.

How does SmartLipo work?
Through a special laser similar to that used in cataract surgery, fat cells are targeted and the sound energy literally dissolves the cells on contact. A gentle suction then massages the dissolved fat out of the body. A very small percentage is retained, absorbed into the body, and excreted as waste within 24 hours.
Worries about the safety of the laser should be quelled - the laser can easily differentiate between fat cells and other tissues including nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissues.

What will happen during my visit?
Prior to your actual procedure visit you will need to schedule a consultation appointment with the physician. During this visit you will discuss your goals for the SmartLipo and your expectations. You will also need to share your medical history and other relevant information. The physician will inform you of the realistic expectations you can achieve based on your initial body state.

During your procedure visit the physician will begin by filling the procedure area with a saline solution. This solution helps numb the site and shrink blood vessels. The laser is inserted into the skin and heats the fat cells to 45 degrees centigrade, resulting in a breakdown of membranes and release of liquid fat. A small incision is made in the area and small cannulas (tiny tubes) are inserted to suck out the dissolved fat cells. A pressure garment is placed over the procedure area for one to three days.

Why should I choose SmartLipo over traditional liposuction?
Many features set SmartLipo apart from traditional liposuction such as length of visits, comfort, recovery time, and reduced scarring and bruising. Traditional liposuction requires about seven days of down time post-procedure, general anesthesia, additional surgical procedures to touch up what the liposuction cannot achieve, stitches, six week compression garment, and an unpleasant tube that vacuums out fat. SmartLipo, on the other hand, uses local anesthesia, small lasers and cannulas for fat removal, leaves little to no scarring and requires no stitches, only two days of down time and only two weeks for compression garments.

SmartLipo is not for everyone and only a discussion with a qualified physician will enable you to decide whether you want to have SmartLipo done. A typical visit will last about one hour

Fractional Technology

No Pain BIG Gain

Erbium YAG is the latest technology from Alma Lasers for skin resurfacing, wrinkles, scars and laser peeling. Erbium YAG system is the only 2940nm Fractional Ablative Skin Resurfacing technology on the market.

Using fractional ablative skin resurfacing technology, the Erbium YAG Module combines fractional technology with Erbium YAG, providing the known efficacy of traditional ablative erbium technology for superior results, with a comparatively shorter healing time with the fractional technology.

Similar to a digital photograph composing of millions of tiny squares called pixels, the laser microbeam topographically selects the skin mosaic and passes through the matrix to interact with the skin surface, thus creating an ablation zone which treats about 15-20% of the treatment area whilst sparing the non-pixel zones or undamaged skin around each treatment site. The untreated area acts as a reservoir for rapid healing and re-epitheliasation, thereby significantly reducing the risk of infection and side effects. By limiting the affected area, the Erbium YAG is also able to treat delicate skin areas such as the neck, chest and hands safely and more effectively, as each pixel spot within the spot size receives optimal energy. Treatments are also fast and effectively fuss free with the large spot size, and no messy gels, dyes or disposables.

Advantages of Fractional Technology for Skin Rejuvenation
Laser skin resurfacing (LSR), like chemical peels, dermabrasion and microdermabrasion, is commonly used to restore the youthful appearance to wrinkled and sun-damaged skin. While yielding excellent results, LSR often involves discomfort and a significant downtime. That means an extended period indoors, with little sun exposure, which is a bane for many active and working patients.

Erbium YAG skin surfacing, in comparison to other LSR, saves procedure time, minimizes discomfort and in some cases reaps better results. In short, Erbium YAG skin resurfacing offers the best of both worlds, producing superior results without pain and downtime.

Benefits of Erbium YAG Skin Resurfacing Treatment:

  • Improves skin texture and firmness
  • Reduce appearance of fine to moderate wrinkles
  • Safe and effective treatment for face, neck, chest, arms and hands
  • Little or no discomfort
  • No downtime
  • Long-term results

Laser Acne & Scar Treatment
For patients who have had problems with acne scars and scar hypertrophy, this form of treatment with a NON-ABLATIVE LASER would benefit them significantly. This procedure will stimulate collagen formation and as a result it will have a long lasting improvement in acne and overall texture of the skin. This form of treatment has proven superior in a few clinical studies, to taking an antibiotic regime.

Laser Resurfacing can treat not only wrinkles but also sun-damaged skin, growths, acne scarring, and other conditions. Resurfacing lasers have for the most part replaced chemical peels and dermabrasion. The precision of these lasers have enabled doctors to remove tissue precisely, without blood, and to a desired depth. They also tighten collagen fibers.

The Erbium and the CO2 laser are used for skin resurfacing. The difference between the two lies in depth penetration. The CO2 laser is more powerful, in experienced hands will produce great results. The Erbium has the same properties as a CO2 but has limited depth penetration, limiting its effectiveness.

The Erbium laser is said to be safer, faster healing, less redness, and less scarring than the CO2. This is true because the less the skin is penetrated the quicker the healing time and the less the chances of scarring and complications.

What is Meso-Lift Procedure?
Meso-Lift is a non-surgical procedure that involves micro-injections of minerals, anti-oxidants, hyaluronic acid and vitamins into the dermal-epidermal junction of the skin to rejuvenate and revitalize your face.
Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants are essential to rejuvenate your skin cells making them metabolically active, thus stimulating collagen and elastin production. Hyaluronic acid on the other hand provides more active and longer lasting hydration to prevent and combat skin aging. Injecting certain compounds into the skin of the face can elicit a firmer, 'lifted' effect as the substances encourage the formation of new collagen in the skin.

Procedure
The number of sessions that you have to go through will depend on your stage of ageing, your wishes and your budget. A minimum of 4 sessions may be required to achieve the desired effect. The interval between sessions is two weeks.

Benefits of Meso-Lift Procedure:

  1. Improved skin hydration and elasticity
  2. Enhanced skin tonicity
  3. Disappearance of fine lines
  4. Balanced skin pigmentation
  5. Tighten loose skin
  6. Safe as the products used are biocompatible, microbiologically safe and from non-animal origin.

Radio frequency treatment has become the choice of treatment for patients who do not want any cuts or needles injected to their face for a lift. Since the advancement of THERMAGE two years ago, radio frequency has come a long way. Using only the latest technology with the state-of-the-art ANTILAX Machine, this procedure will give you the best result possible. The ANTILAX combines radio frequency and fragmented infrared during the procedure. This means, with the radio frequency you will experience collagen remodeling, causing your face to be firmer, reducing your wrinkles, eliminating eye-bags & getting rid of any visible sag, and with the fragmented infrared you will get an improved muscle tonicity to sustain the new, firmer and lifted look that you have obtained. The ANTILAX is the only machine to have successfully combined the two technologies. Studies have shown that 3 months post- procedure, patients will experience and notice a further improvement by 41% from the initial results.

The ANTILAX can also be used on the abdomen for firming up the flab’s or post liposuction to get an even and flat abdomen, on the arms to firm up the loose skin at the triceps area, on the buttocks and thighs for a curvier and contoured look to boost your confidence.

This is a safe and pain free procedure which will promise you results WITHOUT cuts, sutures, needles or complications. A quick fix with results that all surgeons are talking about!

This procedure has gained tremendous popularity since it was aired on The Oprah Prime Time Talk Show in mid 2005. It has become the number one choice procedure for patients who do not wish to get a surgical facelift done under general anesthesia. With the use of imported, specially-designed and laser-cut APTOS threads, Silhouette Threads or the SERDEV threadlift, doctors can perform non-surgical facelifts or “thread-lifts” on cheeks, brows, jowl, neck and breasts for patients who want a lift but are not ready for surgery. This procedure gives long lasting results. The threads are made of high grade polypropylene. The threads are translucent. Tiny barb-like structures are present along the threads. Once inserted under the skin, these structures will open up like an umbrella, to support and hold the subcutaneous tissue against gravity during and after the procedure. These threads are USFDA approved and have obtained the CE Mark in Europe.

Best Candidates for THREAD-LIFT
This would be the best choice for anyone who is not fit for surgery (i.e. Severe Hypertensive or Uncontrolled Diabetes) or for those who do not want to undergo any procedures under general anesthesia. Both men and women whose face and neck have excess static facial lines and sagging skin would be the right candidate for the THREAD-LIFT procedure.

It can be used to lift sagging eyebrows, adjust asymmetric eyebrows, reposition sagging cheeks, and lift drooping soft tissue of the mid-face, lower-face and neck. It is also suitable for patients who have loss of volume around the facial area. The average age for this procedure is between 35 – 60 years. THREAD-LIFT facelifts are not for everybody, mainly patients whose faces are very heavy or very thin are not ideal candidates.

Procedure
For the THREAD-LIFT, the procedure is carried out under local anesthesia, and your face will be insensitive to pain. Under local anesthesia, you would not feel groggy or heavy headed after the procedure. Depending on the number of threads used, the procedure can take between 45 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.

The THREAD-LIFT procedure will be done in a sterile environment. After administering the local anesthesia, the threads will be inserted 2 cm behind the hair line and will exit at the naso-labial area and jowl fold area or depending on where the lift is needed. At the area of the thread insertion, a subcutaneous suture is done to hold the threads in place. Once the threads are secured, the sagging area will be massaged upwards against gravity and the barb-like structures along the threads will latch on the subcutaneous tissue to hold the sagged skin in place. The excess thread will be snipped off. No other sutures or cuts will be done, therefore leaving no scar on the visible area of the face.

Recovery and Post-Op Care
The THREAD-LIFT has minimal downtime. Post procedure patients will be prescribed with prophylactic antibiotics. There may be some minimal bruising from the procedure but this would only be for a short period of time, between 1-2 days. Patients would feel firmness & tightness straight away from the THREAD-LIFT. The THREAD-LIFT will continue for up to 3-5 years, at which point a second procedure may be performed if desired. If there is any discomfort after surgery, it will be lessened with medication prescribed by the doctor. There will be a post-procedure review by the doctor after seven (7) days. The good thing about this procedure is that you don’t have to walk around with any bandages.

Other Recommended Procedures with THREAD-LIFT Facelift
A THREAD-LIFT facelift is often done with other treatments, such as combining radio-frequency post THREAD-LIFT, nose reshaping and eyelid surgery or just adding on BTA to enhance the lift. Other options include the Thermalift/ Thermage, which works to a lesser degree, and invasive plastic surgery.
