Dr Kim Tan is a Consultant Cardiologist. He was trained at Middlesex Hospital Medical School, University of London. He was previously Professor of Medicine and Head of Cardiology at the University Malaya Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He held this position for 7 years from 1997, having previously served as a Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s Hospital, London, United Kingdom.Dr Kim Tan is currently with HealthScan Malaysia™ and Sunway Medical Centre.

Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PCI): over 10000 procedures

Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS): Over 300 procedures
Percutaneous Transvenous Balloon/Metallic Mitral Commisurotomy (PTMC/PMMC): Inoue technique, 100 procedures; Overture device, 100 procedures
Permanent Pacemaker (PPM): over 1000 implantations (over 350 dual chamber, including upgrade and electrode explantation procedures) and extensive experience of pacemaker programming.
Electrophysiological Studies (EPS): Over 400 procedures assessing supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias, and bradyarrhythmias.
Automatic Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (AICD): 50 implantations.

Dr. Suren Thuraisingham is a Consultant Cardiologist. He was trained at St Thomas’s Hospital Medical School, University of London. He was previously a Senior Lecturer and Consultant Cardiologist at University Malaya Medical Centre in Kuala Lumpur for 7 years. His last appointment in the United Kingdom before his return to Malaysia (1992) was as Registrar in Cardiology at the Papworth Regional Cardiac Unit in Cambridge. Dr Suren Thuraisingham is currently with HealthScan Malaysia™ and Sunway Medical Centre.
