Medical Tourism Insurance

Posted in Uncategorized by admin @ Dec 8, 2008

One of the major concerns of clients considering Medical Toursim abroad is insurance.  A new company has recently come to Restorasians notice which may alleviate that concern.

Angelis has created a travel insurance policy specifically for people travelling abroad from the UK for medical, cosmetic or dental treatment. For the first time, people can travel secure in the knowledge that their insurance policy has been specifically created to address the most important concerns medical tourists have.
Angelis has developed its policy in conjunction with certain underwriters at Lloyd’s. Not only does it remove medical travel exclusions, but the policy also provides cover for a number of situations that could potentially arise with medical tourism.
In addition to providing standard travel cover, if the post-operative recovery period takes longer than expected, the policy will contribute towards any expenses incurred like extra hospital time, hotels and flights. Likewise, should complications arise up to a year after after surgery and a return trip is necessary, our policy may provide cover.

Cosmetic Surgery and Compression Garments

Posted in Uncategorized by admin @ Aug 26, 2008

I have written about the importance of wearing compression garments after cosmetic surgery several times but sadly we see and hear of many women (as its mostly women) who are not wearing them. This may be either they dont know about their importance, not given the correct advice or they are reluctant to wear them.

If you are having cosmetic surgery especially liposuction or breast enlargements please come and visit us at Amanita. We have fitted hundreds of women of every shape and size and are regarded as the fitting experts for cosmetic surgery. We are able to give you advice about what is the correct garment, how to take care of the garment and how to take care of yourself after surgery.

Marena garments, considered the most advanced technology in garments are available exclusively at Amanita. Check out why these garments are more superior compared to others in Malaysia.

Features Benefits
Power/Stretch

Three dimensional stetch - not one or two dimensional like all other garments -makes this garment superior in providing supportive compression as it comfortably squeezes the patient’s body.

Softness

This garment molds like a second skin because it is made of a proprietary blend of INVISTA’s LYCRASOFT® and TACTEL® fibers, certified as the softest, best performing textile fibers available today.

Durability

Manufactured with a patent-pending knitting design and tested in the laboratory, this garment holds its shape even after 60,000 flexes and 30 extreme washes.

Moisture Management Actively conducts heat and sweat away from the body through a combination of heat - and moisture-dissipating materials, and three-dimensional fabric that allows air to circulate close to the skin. This garment exceeds INVISTA COOLMAX® standards for dryness, cooling effect, and moisture absorption.
Anti-Microbial Protection

Built in permanent antimicrobial agents, this garment inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew leaving patients feeling cleaner and fresher even after long periods of wear.

Its definitely worth spending a little more money to ensure you get the best finished product!

Infertlitlity Treatment in Malaysia

Posted in Opthalmology, Uncategorized by admin @ Aug 25, 2008

Restorasian would like to introduce their newest Specialist

Dr Prashant Nadkarni

Consultant Gynaecologist and Infertility Specialist

KL Fertility & Gynaecology Centre Medical Director
of KL Fertility & Gynaecology Centre
Pantai Medical Centre Clinical Director of IVF Services,
Pantai Medical Centre Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

Dr. Prashant qualified as a doctor from Universiti Malaya in 1982, obtained his specialist degree in 1989 after training in UK, and has been an Infertility Specialist since then. In all, he has had over 17 years experience in infertility and ivf.

Dr. Prashant studied Medicine at the University of Malaya between 1977 and 1982. After completing his internship at University Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, he left Malaysia to continue his Obstetrics & Gynaecology training in the UK. During his 8 years in the UK, he worked at some of the most prestigious hospitals in London including St. Bartholomew’s, Guy’s, Middlesex and University College Hospitals.

He obtained his specialist qualification (MRCOG) in 1989 and chose to further subspecialise in the field of infertility. At this time, infertility was a new and exciting field to be in, and training opportunities in the UK were very rare. He was fortunate to be selected to train with Prof. Ian Craft one of IVF’s early pioneers. He spent the next two years (1989-1991) at the London Fertility & Gynaecology Centre in Harley St., where he was involved in cutting edge infertility research and treatments which have now become a routine part of infertility management.

In 1991, Prof. Ian Craft and the London Fertility Centre were invited by the Dept of Health, Dubai to establish and run the Dubai Fertility Centre in the United Arab Emirates. Dr. Prashant was seconded to Dubai to set up the center from scratch. This fertility centre grew to become one of the largest fertility centres in the Middle East doing over 500 IVF and GIFT cycles a year.

Upon his return to Malaysia in 1997 he rejoined University Hospital and set up the IVF unit there. As Associate Professor, he was responsible for teaching students and resident doctors, and to this day, maintains an active interest in research and training. He is regularly invited to speak at public forums as well as at medical conferences in Malaysia & Singapore on fertility issues.

In 2001 he left University Hospital to set up private practice and was appointed Clinical Director of IVF services at Pantai Medical Centre, Bangsar in 2002.

In the last 17 years of fertility practice he has had

  • From 1989 - GIFT, IVF & Frozen Embryo Replacement babies.
  • From 1990 - Ovum Donor and Surrogate babies.
  • From 1993 - PESA & TESA babies.
  • From 1993 - ICSI babies.

He was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists in the UK in 2001.
